A wheel-thrown traditional Portuguese garafão jug. This tin-glazed jug is in the shape of jugs that were historically used to carry water, before the advent of the plastic age.  This pot is hand painted in and underglaze painting technique by Estella Swift Goldmann. The design, in soft green and bright yellow colours, features different birds on opposite sides surrounded by a flowing floral decoration.
