An outing to Porches Pottery has proved popular with visitors to the Algarve for many years. Situated in a walled garden where a fountain plays, the pottery resembles a traditional 18th century Algarvian farm house and has the atmosphere of a thriving craft workshop. Here you can witness the magic of the decorators’ brush work as, seemingly effortlessly, they go about their craft.
We have officially re-opened!
We are now open on weekdays between 10:00 and 17:00.
We may allow a maximum of 5 visitors at one time. The use of a mask is obligatory and visitors should maintain a distance of 2m from one another. If you do have any symptoms, we ask you to help us protect our customers and our team by staying home and seeking medical advice.
Adjoining the Pottery, the Cafe Bar Bacchus offers charming surroundings and a congenial atmosphere in which to enjoy a coffee or a delicious light lunch. This intimate café -bar, with it's log fire in winter, is decorated with original tile murals by Patrick Swift that depict the story of Bacchus - Roman god of wine. On hot summer days the leafy shaded terraces and copula overlooking the garden provide picturesque and tranquil suroundings in which to relax.
